“Honestly it’s not going to change a lot. I guess I’ll just throw it on the pile.”
This was the reaction of Scott ‘mastrblastr’ Seiver in the wake of his victory in Event #21 of the 2008 WSOP for $755,891. Such nonchalance towards such a large sum of cash demonstrates better than anything else just how much success Seiver has had at the game since turning 21.
The Cold Springs Harbour, NY native overcame a field of 731 (and good friend Scott ‘SCTrojans’ Freeman on the final table) to take down his first ever World Series bracelet in the $5,000 NLH event and catapult himself into the poker limelight.

- Won Bracelet at 2008 WSOP
– Heads-Up $25/$50 & $50/$100 specialist
But Seiver has been one of the top heads-up $25/$50 & $50/$100 NLH cash players on the net in 2008 and online players would already have been more than aware of his ability at the table. From January – October 2008, the ‘mastrblastr’ alias on Full Tilt posted profits of over $500,000 at the cash tables and has been regularly tussling with the likes of David Benyamine and Jason Rosenkrantz in some titanic st ruggles (check out this Two Plus Two thread with discussion of an interesting Seiver vs Rosenkrantz hand from August). In fact, his rise to these levels has been meteoric; he was playing $3/$6 as late as November 2007!
For a cash specialist, Seiver also has some impressive MTT results; ‘mastrblastr’ finished 8th in the Full Tilt $25,000 Heads-Up Championship in May for $96,000 and he took down a $163 NLH event for $19,575 in July last year. Playing as ‘gunning4you’ on PokerStars he actually finished runner-up in the Sunday Million back in April 2007 for his biggest online score to date: $134,640. He also finished 2nd in the $100 Re-Buys ($18,100) last August and in the 2008 WCOOP (Event #5, $10,000 NLH) he managed to cash for $17,655 despite coming in 42nd.
Seiver has also had some impressive results on the live circuit before his bracelet victory, with 7 WSOP cashes and prizes of over $120,000 before his mammoth score in June.
Full Tilt offer heads-up tables as high as $300/$600 so if mastrblastr continues his run of form in 2008 then look out for him tussling at even higher limits – and probably posting even bigger profits.
