Mario Silvestri aka “Pwnasaurus” has been tearing up the online baize, with tournament winnings of over $350,000 on PokerStars alone this year…
Online poker pro Mario Silvestri, aka “Pwnasaurus”, has been destroying some of the biggest online tournaments on the net.
Having won over $250,000 this year alone, Mario has made inroads into a list of tournaments which reads like an A to Z of high stakes poker. He has won the UltimateBet $200,000 for $45,000; taken down a PartyPoker Daily Super; as well as a FullTilt $300 freezeout. He holds a PocketFives Triple Crown (having to win three tournaments on three sites with prize pools above $10,000 all in one week).
The site he seems to have had the most success with is without doubt PokerStars. Mario has cashed for over $410,000 on PokerStars – including deep runs into nearly every one of their big tournaments. He has won a Stars $100 rebuy (one of the toughest tournaments on the net), and gone deep in the big one, the PokerStars Sunday Million, getting a sixth place and a cool $45,245. As well as these he has numerous other five figure cashes – an incredible record for someone so young.
It seems PokerStars really does run in his blood – his biggest live win was in the WPT PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (remember satellites for the 2008 event in January are running now). He just bubbled the final table, placing 12th for $59,336. He has total live winnings so far of around $75,000 – not bad considering he turned 21 this year – and has made in a few months what many would make over five years.
Mario is a soft spoken and clever player – to watch him introduce himself check out this interview with him. We surely know that he will be a face to watch out for – his performances and results speak for themselves.
