My mother was against it but she sees the results and she has to be happy now
The Frenchman has delighted Everst Poker qualifiers by landing a $1million bonus….
Hailing from a small village in Bretagne, North-West France, the spotlight of a Main Event final table seat is a long way from the norm for Antoine Saout.
The 25 year-old only started playing poker 18 months ago but ask anyone who plays on Everest Poker and they will tell you that ‘Tonio292’ is one of the most respected MTT regulars on the site.
Remarkably, the Frenchman has only been playing the game for 18 months and won his seat via a satellite on Everest – but the other ME qualifiers from the site must be ecstatic at his progress.
That’s because they will all share in a $1million bonus for Saout making the final table!
Saout has hardly made a ripple on the live poker scene before this score – just 2 recognised cashes to date in fact, both on the Spanish Poker Tour.
They amounted to just over $8,000 – but he is in with a shot at $8million now!
It is just a small chance, though, as he is the second shortest stack at the table and is on the direct left of a certain Phil Ivey when plays resumes in November.
His Mum wasn’t happy when Saout said he wanted to pursue poker full-time but unsurprisingly a 7-figure cash has quickly changed her mind.
“My mother was against it but she sees the results and she has to be happy now,” he said. “My friends and family back home are really proud and happy for me.”
