WCOOP Event 23 - 32 Results

A quick catch-up on the WCOOP is in order, starting with Event #23 which attracted the usual Hold’Em fanatics (over 1,000 of them) and saw a collection of mostly unknown players at the top end of the cash list. ElkY continued his stunning form of late with 15th ($10,950); and that wasn’t his only WCOOP cash in the last few days.

Event #24 finally saw a ‘live’ pro show the onliners how to do it – double WSOP bracelet winner Tom ‘luvgamble’ Schneider taking down the NL 2-7 Single Draw for $42,000. Of course this isn’t the most popular game online so it was no surprise to see the likes of Bill Chen (10th; $3,800), Gavin Griffin (17th, $2,000) & Daniel Negreanu (18th, $2,000) at the top of the leaderboard as well.

PLO re-buys is just the sort of action tournament that aggressive players love to play so it was not unexpected to see Shaun Deeb walk away with the $144,112 first prize in Event #25. Also going well there were JohnnyBax (9th, $10,837) & ElkY again (12th, $8,070).

Mr. Grospellier was at it again in Event #27 where in his more familiar guise of Hold’Em fiend came 5th in the NLH Triple Shoot-Out for another $20,047. (Also a shout-out to Adam 'Clarkatroid' Clark in that one, who came in 19th for $1,640). Then, on Friday night, he made it an incredible 4 WCOOP cashes in 4 days with a 15th in Event #29 ($10,714); clearly the former gaming professional is on a serious heater and it will be worth keeping an eye on him when the big WSOPE Events kick off this week.

As we write, only two events are yet to finish, including the Main Event where MTT top dog ‘AJKHoosier1’ is flying. Check back here for a full report on the ME as and when it 2,185 runner event concludes!
