Who has been going deep in the WCOOP ahead of the WSOPE? Find out here...

WCOOP Event 20 – NLH, $3,000,000 GTD

Buy In: $1,050

Prizepool: $3,467,000

Runners: 3,467

Paid: 540

Lasted: 30 hours 50 minutes

Winner: NYC P.I.M.P, $468,045

Runner Up: QuasiFiction, $329,365

Event #20 had the biggest WCOOP guaranteed to date so it was no surprise to see almost 3,500 players part with $1,050 for their shot at a first prize closing in on $500,000. American player ‘NYC P.I.M.P’ came through over 30 hours of play to emerge victorious, ahead of Mark ‘QuasiFiction’ Hirleman. Hirleman has previously won the $100 re-buys and came third in the Wednesday Hundred Fifty Grand so this $329,365 cash is clearly no fluke. Elsewhere, ElkY put up a decent showing ahead of the WSOPE, finishing 14th for $14,561; he logged on in London so no doubt the events at the Empire are clearly on his mind already. And PokerStars veteran Humberto Brenes ensured that there was at least two of the sites battalion at the deep end; he eventually busted in 16th for $8,667.

WCOOP Event 21 – Stud Hi/Lo, $200,000 GTD

Buy In: $530

Prizepool: $262,500

Runners: 525

Paid: 80

Lasted: 15 hours 37 minutes

Winner: weaktight, $47,775

Runner Up: aldenpogi, $29,400

The Stud Hi/Lo event was stacked out with PokerStars pros as the likes of Barry Greenstein, Daniel Negreanu, Chad Brown & Lee Nelson all participated in one of the most mentally draining forms of the game. In the end, the only Stars members to go relatively deep were Lee Nelson (29th, $1,968) & Chad Brown (16th, $3,412) who is fresh off a cash at the EPT Barcelona. In the end Hi/Lo specialist ‘weaktight’ walked away with the $47,775 first prize (he had won 4 Omaha 8/B events and a H.O.R.S.E. tournament on Stars before this victory). And it was another final table for Event #16 winner Andy McLEOD: the $6,562 he received for 7th place takes his series earnings beyond the $100,000 mark.

WCOOP Event 22 – Omaha 8/B Mixed (6-Max), $200,000 GTD

Buy In: $530

Prizepool: $310,000

Runners: 620

Paid: 90

Lasted: 15 hours 4 minutes

Winner: BUCKIZ6, $55,800

Runner Up: jamie2000, $41,850

This even higher action form of Omaha lived up to its name as the chip lead swung multiple times and according to Alex Kravchenko ‘a good portion of luck’ was needed to win this Event. That luck fell to ‘BUCKIZ6’, who had actually scooped a NLH event on the site for $12,463 two days earlier. The pros stacked out the field for this unusual event (Limit and Pot Limit Omaha with both Hi/Lo) but not many made it deep. Chris Moneymaker came in 58th ($1,023), Dario Minieri managed 45th ($1,178) but it was left to Victor Ramdin to make the best ‘pro’ finish up in 14th for $2,790.
