WCOOP 6, 7 and 8 Results

By Lucy Kavanagh 9 September 2008

We take a look at the latest results from the WCOOP 2008, as events 6-8 come to a close...

WCOOP Event 6 – 530 NLHE, 3m Guaranteed

The first of two events (we think there should be more of these) to run over two days in this year's WCOOP, Event 6 attracted over 7000 runners who seemed to view the break as an advantage.

Anybody who has played one of these will completely understand (personally I found myself struggling after about 4 hours playing the 2-7 event with a 30 minute clock) - with a deep stack and an unusually deep clock, the PokerStars WCOOP events can last anywhere from 12-24 hours straight with only 5 or 15 minute breaks every hour.

A two day event allows a decent break after 12 hours meaning players come back refreshed to play out the late tournament stages.

WCOOP Event 7 – 6 Handed PLO, 300k Guaranteed

THE__D__RY hits his third cash of the WCOOP in the PLO, finishing 29th for $1.4k, and in a strangely similar place to his other cashes (he finished 30th in the 10k NLHE, 29th in the 5 Card Draw). t soprano and PearlJammer, MTT specialists, finished 32nd and 35th respectively, also for $1.4k each.

WCOOP Event 8 – 8 Game Mix

MTT star DuckU cashed in at 30th for $1.3k - however, no other big names making the deep end of the cash list. This really is a year for the unknowns - an excellent sign for the growth of poker (though not so good if you are an excistnig MTT pro...)
