The highly marketable German pro captures the EPT Dortmund for over $1million....

Sandra Naujoks was already one of the most marketable young female poker stars in the world – now the German has one of the most prestigious tournament titles in the world to add to her CV.

The Full Tilt pro celebrated victory in the EPT Dortmund last weekend, winning $1,159,541 in the process and becoming only the second woman ever to win a European Poker Tour event.

Naujoks fought through 666 other runners to scoop the prize in her homeland, as well as seeing off a talented final table including the likes of William Thorson, Luca Pagano & last year’s winner Mike ‘Timex’ McDonald. There was a touch of fortune to her victory, with her A9 busting Holger Kanisch’s AQ in the final hand, but no-one can deny her skill to get to heads-up play in the first place.

“It was sick. I don't really know what I feel,” she said after the last hand. “I'm exhausted - I can't believe it. It's such a great feeling to win my home EPT.”

Congratulations must go to Naujoks – this is comfortably the biggest success of her young career to date and we expect to see a lot more of her this year, especially at the WSOP. This was the 3rd German Champion this season and clearly the state of German poker is on a big upward curve at present.
