November Nine Player Focus: Joseph Cada

In this day and age it is almost inevitable that at least one member of the November Nine will be an online tournament reg.

And this time it is the turn of Joseph Cada to take the mantle.

Following in the footsteps of Craig Marquis and Peter Eastgate last year, Cada is primarily an online player, where he is known as ‘jcada99’ on Full Tilt and Ultimate Bet.

While he isn’t one of the most well known MTT regs out there, the 21 year-old from Shelby Township, Michigan does have some big scores to his name.

In January 2008 he took down the Full Tilt $750k Guaranteed, the site’s flagship tournament, for a cool $147,500. In October ’08 he went on to win the Sunday Mulligan for another $49,600 and in April ’09 was runner-up in the $75k GTD ($14,500) before winning the $15k GTD Super Turbo ($7,100) in the same month.

All this put him into healthy profit according to his OPR stats – of course after the Main Event his live ROI will now be through the roof!

Having only just turned 21, Cada hasn’t been seen live until this year’s series but he seems to have set about making a name for himself. He played no fewer than 16 events, cashing in 2 other tournaments: the $2,500 NLH (64th, $6,681) and the $1,500 NLH (17th, $21,533).

Delving into the online archives and there a couple of interesting tit-bits to unearth about jcada99. This blog by Ariel ‘FoxwoodsFiend’ Schneller in February 2008 details a very interesting heads-up session between the pair, where ‘DaEvils’ was not very complimentary of the November Niner.
