Neil Channing, aka BadBeat, can be seen in Poker Verdict red in tournaments across the UK as well as further afield for the European Poker Tour and the WSOP.
In June, things began to warm up as Neil came 3rd in a nightly Bellagio tournament for $40k. A few weeks later in July, the heat really kicked in as Neil finished 131st in the WSOP Main Event, good for $58k.
It was towards winter however that Neil's inland games began to hot up and defy a cold British climate.
Firstly, in October, Neil won his heat in the UK Open, securing a cash and UK TV appearance in the semi finals.
Channing went one step better in November, final tabling the Great British Poker Tour Grand Final alongside some of the best British players around. Another TV appearance and cash for Neil confirmed he was in form.
Soon afterwards Neil headed to Blackpool for the final leg of GUKPT and battled it out over 4 days to finish an amazing 5th, bagging over thirty grand and, you guessed it, another TV appearance in Poker Verdict colours.
This week, the GUKPT Grand Final festival has begun. In the run up to the main event, Neil sat down in a £1000 NLHE freeze out and did not need to leave his seat, taking the event down. This first place finish for Neil Channing marks a continued roll of form as well as a thirty grand prize. Not bad!
Here’s a round up of 2007 so far for Neil Channing:
Bellagio 1000 Nightly – 3rd, $40,060
WSOP Main Event – 151st, $58,570
UK Open - Semi Finalist
GUKPT Blackpool – 5th , $ 44,618
GUKPT £1000 – 1st, $65,614
Congratulations from all of the Poker Verdict team.
