6 October 2008 by Lucy Kavanagh
After today's European rankings update, our gentleman in red Neil Channing has pushed his way back to the top of the leader board...
He now stands nearly 400 points clear of Andreas Krausse and unarguably in the right position for 2008's most phenomenal performer - number one.

After an amazing two deep cashes in the WSOPE side events at the Empire last week, Neil has again reaffirmed the suspicion in all of the poker world's mind that he is the hottest tournament player in Europe at the moment.
This further enhances an amazing year of poker for Neil, who, after winning the Irish Open in March, went on to make several great tournament cashes including a whopping 7 WSOP cashes over the Summer.
His profits just keep on rolling in and we're sure he's glad to be showing the world that he was not just a one hit wonder in the world of tournament poker.
