Dutch native Thierry Van Den Berg, aka, BokPower has been destroying live and online tournaments all this year...
Not content with coming 5th in the EPT Baden Classic for $172,770 on the tenth of October; Thierry Van Ben Berg went on to final table the EPT Dublin a month later, coming 8th for a pay day of $66,710.Thierry Van Den Berg's successes have not been limited to EPT events, he just missed out on WSOP final table glory, coming 7th in the $5000 buy in Six Handed event. I’m sure the $83,145 he received for 7th might have eased the blow though. Seventeen days later he came 81st in the WSOP $10,000 buy in Main Event - cashing in for $106,382. This is nearly $200,000 in winnings at the 20007 WSOP - not bad for a few weeks work in Vegas.
He has also had successes in a variety of other live tourneys including the 2005 Caribbean Poker Classic, and the WPT Bellagio Cup tournaments. In major live tournaments Thierry Van Den Berg has lifetime winnings of just under $500,000.
It is not only live events that Thierry Van Den Berg has massive success in. His online successes have been big as well. Playing under the name “BokPower” on all sites he has cashed for over $350,000 on PokerStars alone, he is a force to be reckoned with in all of their major tournaments. "BokPower" has won a PokerStars $100 rebuy, a PokerStars $100 freezeout, regularly gets deep in the PokerStars $1000 freezeouts and consistently gets deep in all other tourneys. One of his largest cashes on PokerStars is second in a 2208 runner $200 freezeout - good for $43,718.
"BokPower" also final tabled the FullTilt online poker series main event, being knocked out 9th, racing ace ten against a pair of eights and losing. The cash for this was a not insignificant $21,554 - pretty good going for a $500 freezeout. He has also final tabled the FullTilt $500k, again coming ninth for $9,053.
Live or online Thierry Van Den Berg is an extremely dangerous player. If he sits at your table you will have to do a lot more than just talk about your last trip to Holland to get rid of him. With results like this you're best just sitting back and trying to let the cards do the work.
