Despite being a regular casher on Stars, JP OSU is more famous for one 31k loss away from the tables...

Even if you are not familiar with the name Jason Potter, if you follow poker news at all, you will have heard of the 22 year old Tulsa native.
Jason, JP OSU on PokerStars, was robbed of his winnings, $31k in total, when deciding to take a short walk to a 24 hour McDonalds in Melbourne (Aus). It may have been safer, in hindsight, to pay someone $100 to go for him. JP told me, at the Bellagio dinner buffet, where I have never heard of anyone being robbed, that he felt totally safe in Melbourne.
The fact that the robbery was headline news in Melbourne probably suggests he was unlucky to be a victim of crime.
Police have arrested two suspects but Jason will not have to fly back to Melbourne for any trial.
Jason will be on TV again later in the year as he made the final table at a recent WPT tournament in Reno. Jason's fourth place was worth $103k, a lot of BigMacs.
Jason's interest in poker came from watching TV shows and he started in the Indian casinos aged 18. When he attended OSU to study political science he found the games on campus a little low (staked) so started to play on PokerStars as JP OSU.
Jason describes his style as super aggressive and according to Pokerdb has often gone up to 26 tournaments without cashing.
JP OSU largest online cash was in November 07, when he won the Pokerstars $215 buy in second chance. Jason won $52415 that day.
Jason decided to miss Monte Carlo and has a room booked at the Bellagio for the Five Diamond tournament. He figures the greatest threat to his bankroll could be the girls of Spearmint Rhino.
