he is Hungary’s top ranked online player by a country mile

Peter Turmezey has come from obscurity to MTT superstar in just 7 months....

MTT poker has been dominated by the likes of AJKHoosier, Chris Moorman & Shaun Deeb for what seems like an eternity – but they have been gate-crashed big time by ‘breeth’ in the second half of 2008.

Real name Peter Turmezey, he is Hungary’s top ranked online player by a country mile and his form in the last 6 months has lifted him from obscurity to the top 10 of the Pocket Fives rankings in the blink of an eye.

Factfile:

- Plays as 'breeth' on Full Tilt & 'twirlpro' on PokerStars

- Sunday Million, Sunday 500 & Sunday Brawl winner

- Hungary's top ranked online player

Very little is known about his background but he has certainly let his chips do the talking recently, putting together a run as impressive as anyone has achieved all year. That he only made his first ever five-figure cash in March and now has prizes of over $1,350,000 over his 3 main sites (PokerStars, Full Tilt & PartyPoker) tells you everything you need to know about this guys form right now.

His heater began in March when he placed 3rd in Party’s $300k GTD Sunday for $21,776 before final tabling the FT $750k GTD (7th, $17,250) less then a month later. This gave him the platform to begin absolutely crushing every major tournament going from June onwards – and that is not an exaggeration. He came to the attention of the online community by taking down the Party $50k GTD ($14,040), the FT $65k GTD ($18,113) & $40k GTD ($32,016), as well as the Stars Daily Fifty Grand ($12,679), $100 Re-Buys ($23,460) and the Nightly Hundred Grand TWICE (for over $40,000) in the space of just 3 months!

But that was all before October when he stepped up to a level rarely seen in MTT poker. On the 5th he took down the Stars Sunday 500, one of the toughest fields on the net, for a cool $91,250 before capturing the FT Sunday Brawl just 3 weeks later for a further $72,100. Then in November his life changed when he won the holy grail of Sunday Majors: the Sunday Million, good for $196,025. The final table (where he plays as ‘twirlpro’) is available on Poker Tube (see here) and we would advise you to watch it as he ran over the table with super-aggressive tactics which are fascinating to observe.

He hasn’t even finished there and between late November & early December won the Stars $100 Re-Buys TWICE in the space of 2 weeks to add a further $35,000 to his already insane bankroll.

Turmezey has also set his sights on live tournament poker this year with prizes of over $80,000, including a deep run in the WSOPE Main Event where he finished 31st for $46,086.
What makes breeth’s run even more remarkable is that he has come from complete obscurity to tournament superstar in such a short period of time: is he good enough to be compared to the other MTT ‘sickos’ or is he just on the heater to end all heaters? Only time will tell, but the sheer volume of results in the some of the hardest tournaments around means it is more likely to be the former.
