Last night Phil Ivey sat down and played some of the finest online players in a series of heads up battles. First up, Phil Ivey sat down to a spot of $200/$400 against Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond. Phil Galfond dominated the match, winning two buy ins ($80,000) from Phil Ivey in a match full of small ball poker, with most pots staying small and taken down without showdown.
After this Phil Ivey sat down his $500/$1000 “Ivey Thunderdome” heads up pot limit Omaha table to play Tom “Durrr” Dwan. Ivey won a couple of buy ins including this incredible call, finishing with a profit on the table of around $100,000.
Later Ivey returned to some action with Phil Galfond in a $300/$600 heads up match, and quickly avenged his earlier loss, leaving with a stack of just over $190,000. He also played a late session against “trex313" on the Thunderdome, winning close to a quarter of a million dollars in a shortish match.
Once again we see why Phil Ivey is regarded as the ‘Tiger Woods’ of poker, logging yet another monster session and ending up over half a million dollars for a nights work.
