Reuben Peters Takes Down Dublin EPT

By Lucy Kavanagh

Underdog and short stack Reuben Peters makes an amazing comeback against internet phenomenon Annette_15...

Entering the final table at the PokerStars Dublin EPT, it was no surprise to see the young poker phenomenon Annette_15 dominating in chips over her eight rivals.

The youngest ever player to win a bracelet and one of only five women to final table an EPT, an impressive Annette Obrestad was predicted a certain winner by many poker observers.

The starting chip counts as the final nine took their seats were as follows:

Annette Obrestad (Annette_15) 788,000
Daan Ruiter, Groningen, 646,000
Reijo Manninen, 480,000
Casper Hansen, 360,000
Thierry Van Den Berg, 274,000
Michael Durrer, 247,000
Trond Eidsvig, 184,000
Reuben Peters, 176,000
Anders Pettersson, 166,000

Annette gladly took on the role of busting the final table – personally taking out five of the final nine. Entering heads up play against Reuben Peters she held 2.6 million of around 3.3 million chips in play.

Having started off struggling at the bottom of the chip counts, Reuben impressed everyone with his rise to the top. Having previously played Annette_15 online, he knew what he was up against and in response played a very aggressive game.

His double up ensued when Annette pushed on a low flop with top pair, Reuben quickly calling with bottom two pair. After several instances of re-raising all in against Annette and seeing his stack increase as she folded, Reuben finally found himself very narrowly covering Annette.

The final hand saw Reuben getting his push called by Annette on a flop of - Reuben having flopped top pair with his , and Annette in bad shape with her call. The turn and river did nothing for either hand and comeback king Reuben Peters takes down the Dublin EPT leaving Annette Obrestad as runner up.
