They've brought out the brown 5,000 chips now - big boy stuff.
Huge action.
Richard Forembach raises to 9k UTG. Perez behind him re-raises to 29,000. Stefan Rotach moves in behind him for his last 64,000. Forembach then moves in for his last 78k. Not to be outdone, Perez kindly calls.
The hands:
Forembach:

Rotach:

Perez:

The bullets hold up and the Spaniard will need a forklift to collect all those chips up. But Forembach and Rotach both collect €9,500 for their troubles.
Arrive just in time to see Johannes Strassmann triple up after another three-way pot. His
catches a third
on the river to eliminate one opponent with
and another with
who had hit his set on the turn!
Bodies flying.

SICK BUBBLE.
Stefan Wrenger gets his
all in on a

flop. He is called by Brandon Schaefer with
. Battling my way through spectators to see the turn peeled, I FEEL the crowd's noise as the
is peeled and Wrenger bubbles in horribly painful circumstances. An
river means nothing and as I race to the press rooom to type this hand I pass a zombie like Wrenger dragging his feet through the casino lobby. I almost want to buy the chap a drink but work calls and I also think the conversation may be a little on the morbid side.

Anders Henriksson shoves from cut off with

We may have a new chip leader in Canadian Mike McDonald. He raises in early position to 12k, and the aggressive Mats Iremark comes over the top with 29,100. McDonald makes a gutsy/suicidal all-in move with
. Iremark, 150k stack on the line, decides he cant lay down
but he wish he had moments later as first one
then two
hit and just like that the Swede is over to the cash tables. McDonald must have about 350k now, and needed help from the dealer for about ten minutes to stack his new pile. With the Spaniard Perez sitting pretty to his right the pair must have most of the field covered.

Diego Perez takes down an enourmous 100k pot in a tussle of the big stacks with Tyler Friederich.
Friederich bets 8k on a board of

turn is checked before a
river prompts the American to fire out 16k on an exceptionally dangerous board. Perez reaches deep and raises to 38k. Tyler asks Diego "What's the Spanish for full house?" before calling with
for a straight. Sure enough, the Spaniard tips over
and his queens full helps him takes down what must be the biggest pot of the tournament so far.

It's bullets galore as first Frank Werder makes an ill-timed button push with

Both Annette_15 and Negreanu have been thorugh the press room. We all go to find out how this chip leaders had been eliminated within just 4 levels.
I ask Annette 'Oh no, what happened?' and she simply replies 'Oh I made a bad squeeze play. It was 60/40...'
Turns out (on the grapevine) after her double up through Levi, Annette had gone on to lose a good half of that stack doubling up British pro Jelinek in a standard

pre-flop match which played itself. From there, it was downhill and as she said to me just now 'I've been having a bad day overall'.
Negreanu lost the majority of his stack on one hand before heading downhill also - apparantly being four flushed by
to his
.
In both cases, these top pros are reluctant to reveal full descriptions of their actual exit hands to the hungry press room. You can't blame them - once it's downhill, there's not a lot more to say.

Annette_15 vs Nicolas Levi Part 2 (also known as - lyk, OMG)
Just as before, the pre-flop pot has reached approaching 15k.
Flop showing

this time, Annette_15 checks UTG, and Levi bets 5500 from the button. Annette makes a sort of 'struggle call' - leaving us wondering whether she is insanely weak or strong at this moment. In between probably isn't on the cards right now.
They check the
turn. Annette_15 riffles before throwing in 5k on the
river. Levi peeks at her stack before pushing all of his red 500 chips over the line. Annette_15 shoves her entire stack over the line and they showdown.
As Nicolas Levi flips
my heart sinks as I believe I have witnessed the last hand of Annette_15 in Dortmund.
Annette_15, however, casually shows
to show they have both flopped a set, and turned a full house, and that on every street, Annette_15 was ahead.
The count after Levi calling the 5000 river bet of Annette's remaining shove was 19k, meaning Annette_15 now sits on approx 70k.

KidPoker faces a 2500 river bet from Gianvalerio Vindi on a board of

. "I have no clue what to do", mutters Daniel before reluctantly calling. The Italian turns over the
for the nut flush. "I had 2 pair on the flop and a club", adds an animated Daniel. "Why do you guys slowroll so much over here? You been watching too much Casino Royale?"

Annette_15 vs Nicolas Levi.
The pre-flop pot has amounted to around 12k on Annette's big blind. Levi is in cut off. The flop of

is checked (though reluctantly by Levi, who thinks deeply), and Annette bets out 10k for an instacall on the
river. Annette sense danger and checks the
river and almost folds before Levi has announced all in. Neither players show.

Cheeky blind play is always good. Sensing, on a

flop, that his big blind special

Daniel Negreanu sprints thorugh the card room and a director points to his chair. Daniel runs to the table behind however, and realises he is in the wrong place when he sees a coat already on the chair he believes is his. 'Daniel! You're here!' shout the PokerStars crew and Daniel makes it for the next hand.
'Are you like Phil Hellmuth now?' asks an unimpressed Marcus Tandler. 'Soon, you will be whining too.'
Daniel returns his trademark grin and a couple of blinks before proceeding to limp. Two limpers follow and Marcus says 'Look what you've done now!'.
'There's nothing wrong with it, I don't care what the books say.'
'Nothing wrong with it if you want to see a lot of flops - you can outplay anyone on the flop' replies Marcus. Clearly not a fan, are we Marcus?
The hand does not reach showdown, as Daniel re-raises one of the limpers on a low rainbow flop who folds and accepts Daniel's wishes to win his first few pots...

As the body count continues to pile up no sign of Daniel Negreanu yet; but he was an hour late yesterday and finished the day in 8th place so it's worked for him so far.
PokerStars Pro Noah Boeken has just come into the press room, after his
found no help against Lakasz Wasek's
. And Marcel Luske is active early-on: he re-raises Mats Iremark's UTG move; Iremark's response: "I don't think you have a good hand; I think your making a move."
"How sure are you?" replies Luske. Before Marco Liesy comes over the top with 9k to shut them both up. A good start for Liesy, who knocked out Yngne Anderberg when his
caught a

The short stacks begin all out warfare in the first level of Day 2, resulting in 5 eliminations in the first 15 minutes. Here are two of the notable exits we have spotted...
Yngne Anderberg groans as his pre-flop push with
is called by Marco Liesy's
, only for the flop to come
high. Despite the natural desire to win there is even a grimace on Marco's face as he modestly accepts he got lucky on the short stack, who is now holding his head in his hands as he stands behind his seat.
Dutch television qualifier Leroy Soesman breaks the arm off his chair as he flips his called
shove to see his opponent's
. 'Well, that's it for me' he says, leaving the tournament area.
In poker, and especially in the first level of Day 2 of a big tournament, the take no prisoners policy is the only way you will progress.
