Video 1 - Let's Play A Big Pot; Ivey v Antonius

Massive pots are what poker is all about, right? At the top of our charts is this doozie worth $807k from the two kings of modern day poker, Patrik Antonius and Phil Ivey. Filmed in London around September '07 at the Million Dollar Cash Game this was one of the last hands of the day. Ivey had been losing all day, but as we all know, it only takes one hand and everything can change. Check out how long Ivey takes to act on the river.

Video 2 - Let's Play Another Big Pot; Brunson v Laliberte

This pot is even bigger ($818k) than the last. From the last season of High Stakes Poker (without doubt the best poker show on TV) here's a prime example of the pro versus the fish. Doyle has no problem calling Guy Laliberte's somewhat optimistic check-raise on the turn. It helps that Doyle has the nut flush draw on the turn - would the "Big Poppa" have made the call without it?

Video 3 - Celebradonk; Tilly v Antonius

Ok, it's too easy to be nasty, so I shall forego the obvious comments about Jennifer Tilly's rather embarrassing play from NBC's Poker After Dark. Let's face it, we've all had brainfarts in our time at the tables and played super-terrible. What's really hilarious about this clip is the looks on Phil Ivey and Jen Harmon's faces at the showdown, especially after Tilly's comment about what she thought Patrik Antonius had in his hand.

Video 4 - The Grand

Finally, a poker movie that might actually be good. This comedy looks like it has understood what makes poker interesting - the people who play it. They seem to have every sort of character one meets at the table down to a tee. Hands up who thinks "The genius who lives with his mom" is based on Daniel Negreanu? Apparently much of the dialogue was improvised Spinal Tap/Best in Show style.

Video 5 - Rolande De Wolfe finds a new way to Insult Hellmuth

What's so horrible about British poker shows tends to be the production values. When you have no budget the finished product is not going to look that good and one area that every British poker show suffers from is the under-the-table-cameras method of seeing the players' hole cards. Unlike in America where they have the lipstick cameras the U.K has this clunky way of seeing the cards. Thank God a player out there has found a better use for that hole in the table.
