Video 2 - Oliver Hudson in the WSOP main event
In the very first hand of the 2005 World Series of Poker main event Goldie Hawn’s son, Oliver Hudson, looks down at a pair of 10s. He likes his hand but Sammy Farha likes his too. If there’s a lesson to be learned here it is to give a wide berth to all established pros at the WSOP, as Poker Verdict’s Warren Wooldridge has already suggested elsewhere on the site.

This is quite simply one of the most extraordinary hands ever played in the history of televised poker. It looks as if someone has managed to smuggle a cold deck into the studio as the hand looks set up for a monster showdown between several players. However, there is an unexpected twist at the end of the tale.

This guy Bucklox is generally regarded as one of the worst players to ever post a vid on Youtube. He reckons he has devised a new way of playing poker and his Golden Rule is never to play face cards (unless you get K7 which is a top hand). In this vid you can see him put his strategy to the test. Actress Jennifer Tilly shows why she should probably stick to making crappy flicks rather than mixing it with the world’s greatest poker players on Poker After Dark. Watch her totally misplay this hand saving Patrik Antonius a few thousand dollars. At the denouement look out for Phil Ivey’s face which defines the word ‘incredulity’.
