Video 1 - Lucky Kings
This documentary is an old one which seems to have a load of extra footage. It originally appeared on the BBC a few years back and focused on Carlo Citrone, Gary Bush, Simon Trumper, Robert Varkonyi and Phil Hellmuth. From the looks of this trailer we get the bonus of Ross and Barney Boatman, Mike Magee and some australian geezer called Sam. Magee sums it all up when he says, "I live, I breathe, I sleep, I read....poker. Full stop."
Video 2 - Full House
Unfortunately this Irish documentary doesn't look nowhere near as good as the one above. It looks like the film makers spewed whatever non-existent budget they had on some low limit sngs. This doc appears to be heavily based on the college poker scene in Ireland and has the laughable cliche of an addict appearing in silhouette so we can't see his face as he tells his poker-destroyed-my-life horror story. Sample quote: "Poker played for cash is fast becoming the new binge drinking for many of the college going population".
Video 3 - Battle of the Babes; Clonie vs Vanessa
Here's a classic moment from Cash Poker which was filmed at Binions. The look on Clonie Gowan's face after Vanessa Rousso puts a hideous outdraw on her is priceless. The fact that Clonie felt that the hand was a misdeal in the first place followed by the misunderstanding over Vanessa's verbals at the river certainly doesn't help her misery and pain. Why didn't she ask for a ruling? It may have been her only chance to save her last bet. This clip may well also have important historical relevance when Clonie asks Mike Matusow for money after she has been ironed. Possibly the first and only document of televised nipping?
Video 4 - Matusow on Hansen
Gee whiz Mike, say what you mean why don't you? I wonder if Matusow is the tiniest bit miffed at Gus Hansen after Hansen beats him in this TV sng?
Video 5 - 9 7 is the Nuts. Mikey vs Danny
Seeing as Matusow is so entertaining let's stick with The Mouth and this big pot he played with Daniel Negreanu towards the end of a big tournament back in the day (of course in modern poker terms that means about 3 years ago). Both of them get it all-in with top pair on the flop and much hilarity ensues. Check out Matusow's body language after he re-raises all-in compared to Negreanu's cool demeanour.
