Sun Poker: Reasons To Join

Our players know the mission of SunPoker.com is to make sure you have FUN!

Your missing out on potential profits by not joining Sun...

Rather then trying to compete with online giants PokerStars & Full Tilt, Sun Poker have adopted a different philosophy for success.

As they write on their website: “We realize we may never be the 'biggest' poker room in the world, but our players know the mission of SunPoker.com is to make sure you have FUN!” This is certainly achieved through an excellent community atmosphere between management and players that is almost unrivalled in the modern poker industry.

With around 5,000 players on the tables in peak hours, Sun is by no means a small site, but their players are fiercely loyal largely thanks to a world-class customer support service. Help is on hand 24/7 via phone, e-mail or instant chat (which we recommend due to the sheer speed of response). Sun even experimented with their own forum on Two Plus Two, which received warm feedback from the notoriously hard to please 2 2 community (see the forum here).

Sun is also loaded with superb offers and qualifiers for some of the biggest live tournaments in the world. There is a $500 new player bonus, a $200 monthly bonus & an extra $50 for depositing via MoneyBookers (all of these rewards are based on the amount of ‘points’ that you accumulate in a system similar to the PokerStars FPP’s).

Being a top points earner in the monthly leaderboard can give you exclusive entry into a $30,000 freeroll but this is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of guaranteed tournaments. The site offer over $4 million in GTD prize money each month, culminating in an $80,000 guaranteed every Sunday which is the flagship MTT of Sun. Also look out for €10,000 packages to several WPT & EPT Events, including the North American Poker Championship & the EPT Grand Final. The ‘steps’ system is also used for qualifiers for the 2008 Caribbean Poker Classic (worth $10,000) & the Austrian Poker Tour (€2,500).

If you are searching for a bit of poker publicity then Sun is certainly the place to qualify for these offline events. They take a ‘Fearsome Foursome’ to each tournament, consisting of a team of players who have qualified via the site, many with no live experience at all. They are captained by Alex Jagodik, who has cashed in the 2005 WSOP Main Event, the ’05 Monte Carlo Millions and a ’06 WSOP Circuit Event.

The cash action caters for all bankrolls, with NLH running from $0.01/$0.02 right through to one $200/$400 table. PLO ranges from $0.30/$0.50 to $300/$600 and you can play sit and go’s from as little as $2 and as much as $1000 (with $5000 heads-up matches also available). Ring games can also be played in Omaha 8/B & 7 Card Stud.

The advantage of not being a vast poker empire with a multi-million dollar marketing budget is that the level of competition on Sun is no way near the standard of many of its rivals. Given the notoriously lousy customer support on sites such as FT, you will be given a much better service and much better chance to make money over at Sun Poker. We suggest you start playing asap.
