Betfair Poker

With online legends Annette_15 and Imper1um on their roster as well as sponsoring the WSOPE, its clear Betfair Poker is on the up. Aggressive marketing has stimulated a highly active player base and their numbers continue to grow. Being owned by The Sporting Exchange Limited, the worlds biggest sports exchange, gives them an unrivalled database of sports gamblers and with time is sure to become one of the big names of European and World Poker.

Game Variety

As you would expect, No Limit, Pot Limit and Limit HoldEm are all readily available, with fixed limits ranging from $0.10-$0.20 to $250-$500. No Limit and Pot Limit blinds are the same but with a lower $0.05-$0.10 option as well. Other games include Omaha hi-lo, Omaha and 7-stud. As for tournaments, the cheapest buy-in for a single table is $2.50, with $5 for a multi and $10 heads-up. These range up to $800 single, $250 multi and $5,000 heads-up.
Player traffic is decent, with figures showing 1,200 ring-game players at peak hours and 4,000 peak hour tournament players.

Competition

With so many sports bettors using the site, the action is typically loose and passive, providing plenty of opportunities for a skilled player to turn over a tidy profit.

Sponsorship & Promotions

As well as offering excellent qualifiers for their sponsored WSOPE, Betfair Poker also offers packages to the Irish Open and up-coming EPT Events. Qualifiers for the $23,000 WSOPE Main Event are already underway, with satellites starting from as little as $5.50.

Graphics/Software

The recent introduction of a multi-table option, allowing the user to play up to 15 tables simultaneously, is a massive plus. The software runs extremely smoothly and more importantly is one of the most dependable in the industry. They have also recently started a “player buddy” program, where players can analyse their previous hand histories, again an excellent feature for the serious player.

Support/Banking

Betfair Poker offers a number of ways to deposit and withdraw funds. These include credit and debit cards, cheques, Neteller, Western Union, Bank Draft, Delta, Solo , Switch, Maestro or wire transfer. Games can be played in Euros, Dollars and Sterling.
Unlike some other industry leaders, Betfair Poker’s customer support is excellent, with knowledgeable staff on hand via telephone or e-mail 24 hours a day.

Rake

The rake at Betfair Poker is at par with the industry average at 5% with a $3 maximum rake at any game. There is a "no flop, no drop" policy that lets players collect pots won pre-flop without a rake.
